Trauma affects the nervous system, but recovery is possible because the brain and body can heal and change over time. Facing triggers is part of the healing process, and supportive relationships and community greatly strengthen mental health. Difficult experiences, including trauma, can build resilience, deepen character, and encourage spiritual growth. Accepting what happened and receiving social support are key. Trusting relationships—especially a relationship with God—can provide significant comfort and help in recovery.
