Our inner emptiness is healed only when God dwells within us. He gives the purpose and meaning we long for. This outlook reflects a growth mindset, where mistakes are part of learning rather than a threat to identity. A fixed mindset treats failure as personal defeat, which makes overcoming addiction harder. God strengthens the will, enabling us to walk in the Spirit even while old neural pathways still exist. New patterns can be formed, but they require time, steady effort, and perseverance. The journey involves repeatedly rising after setbacks and refusing to give up. This is the essence of a growth mindset. God is patient and gracious towards us in the process to victory.
