God made man by combining dust with the breath of life, a process completely reversed at death when the soul ceases to exist. Individuals do not go directly to heaven or hell but enter an unconscious, sleep-like state until a future resurrection, making any attempts to communicate with the deceased an interaction with demonic spirits. Ultimately, the wicked face complete destruction in a future lake of fire rather than eternal torment. Those who possess life through Jesus have no reason to fear death.
