Could there be something more important than making money, preventing infectious diseases, attempting to fix the disrupted environment, or keep under control tools with potential for unprecedented catastrophes?

Every important accomplishment requires investment. Every significant event necessitates preparation. And would everlasting life need no investment, no preparation?

If indeed everlasting life is possible, than would it not be reasonable to invest in it proportionate to its importance?
If you believe ever-lasting life is not an option, how can you be so sure? And if you believe it will be anyway, and requires no preparation, how can you be so sure?
